Dr. Robin W. Cottle, MD
Dr. Robin Cottle graduated from medical school at the University of British Columbia where he also completed his Masters in Clinical Epidemiology in 1978.
He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Dalhousie Medical School, Halifax Nova Scotia. He then joined New West Eyes in 1992 with Dr. David Neima.

Dr. David S. Neima, MD
Dr. Neima graduated from medical school at Dalhousie medical school in 1977, where he also completed his Ophthalmology Residency from 1982-1986. In 1986, He taught at the Izaac Walton Killam hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia as a Professor of Pediatric Neuro-Ophthalmology. He then opened his own practice here at New West Eyes in 1986.
Dr. Neima volunteers his time teaching ophthalmology around the world such as, China, Zaire, Uganda, Mexico and Vietnam. He also works on the operation Eyesight global project in India which has done over 60,000 cataract surgeries. He holds free eyeglass clinics in the lower mainland with the Knights of Malta and volunteers his time doing free screening eye clinics a few times a year with the rotary club.

Dr. Christopher S. Pollock, MD
Dr. Pollock received an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree from Mount Allison University, where he received the Governor General’s Medal for placing first in his graduating class. He then completed a Master of Science Degree from the University of Toronto, and graduated from Medical School at the University of Ottawa. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency and fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery at UBC.
Dr. Pollock has been practicing in New Westminster since 2012, offering both medical and surgical Ophthalmology treatments. He is a Clinical Instructor at UBC in the Division of Oculoplastic Surgery, and he frequently supervises Ophthalmology Residents and Medical Students. He is the UBC Ophthalmology Course Director for Optics, where he teaches residents about laser physics. He performs cataract and eyelid surgery at Ridge Meadows Hospital, and eyelid surgery at the Eye Care Center in Vancouver. He also offers laser, Botox, and cosmetic treatments at the New Westminster clinic.

Dr. Sripriya Rajagopalan, MD
Dr. Sripriya Rajagopalan (“Dr. Raj”) completed Medical School, with Gold medals and Distinction, at Thanjavur Medical College, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Madras, India. She completed her first ophthalmology residency (Master of Surgery) at one of the world renowned eye hospital , the Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai, India, where she further completed her Diplomate of National Board of Ophthalmology in 2004.
Dr. Raj pursued additional training in the United Kingdom, receiving accreditation and membership from both the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London and the Royal college of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
Dr. Raj comes with wealth of experience working in a large university hospital at Aintree Hospital, Liverpool, UK with special interest in medical retina and neuro-ophthalmology. She also trained in family medicine in the United Kingdom and obtained her Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners with MRCGp and CCFP (Canada). She moved to British Columbia in 2016 after completing her fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC Ophthalmology). Dr. Raj joined New West Eyes in 2017, she specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology and limited oculoplastics. She also offers laser, Botox, and cosmetic treatments at the New Westminster clinic.

Dr. Paul J. Mackenzie, MD
Dr. Mackenzie received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queen’s University and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of British Columbia. He obtained his Medical degree at UBC where he also stayed for his residency. He then completed a fellowship at the Devers Eye Institute In Portland Oregon. He is Associate Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia and is currently on staff at Burnaby General Hospital where he specializes in cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries.

Dr. Alfonso Iovieno, MD PhD FRCSC FACS
Dr. Iovieno obtained his Medical Degree (graduated first in his class) and Ophthalmology Residency at University Campus Bio-medico in Rome, Italy. He also completed a PhD in microbiology and immunology from the same University. Dr. Iovieno pursued additional fellowship training in several prestigious ophthalmology centers around the world including a post-doctoral research fellowship with focus on ocular microbiology and corneal infections at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, cornea, external disease, complex anterior segment and refractive surgery fellowships at the University of Toronto, Canada, and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK.
Dr. Iovieno moved to British Columbia where he obtained his Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2017. He is a clinical associate professor at UBC Department of Ophthalmology where he is responsible for corneal teaching to resident physicians. He later joined New West Eyes in 2018 specializing in corneal and external diseases disease including corneal transplantation and cataract surgery.
